Appearance:
As a man, he is abnormally tall and very muscular, which makes him unintentionally intimidating to most people who do not know him. He is bronze skinned and has jet black hair that gradients to a vibrant red at the ends (genetic mutation). He has deep golden eyes with flecks of beige and orange.
As a mer, he has a long, muscular tail that is covered in sharp, triangular scales. Scales are predominantly black but with red edges. He has plating on the underbelly, the colors of which are inverted.
Scars: A long, thin scar runs from midway up his chin to his cheekbone on the left side, it runs over his lip. Cause is as of yet unknown.
A round scar located just above his wrist on his right arm that is visible on both the underside and top of his arm. Cause is a harpoon.
Fresh scar on his side just below his ribcage on his left side. Cause is magic of some sort.
Fresh scar on his shoulder, three large burn marks that partially obliterate his tattoo. Caused when he was attacked by his youngest brother during a misunderstanding. The wound was severe as Akira never fought back and took a serious beating as a result.
Tattoos: Tribal Wolf tattoo, partially destroyed by the burn scars on his shoulder. The damage to the tattoo does not affect his ability to transform into a wolf if needed.
Habits: When relaxed, he has a tendancy to crook his pinky, ring, and middle fingers while keeping his thumb and pointer straight. Most depictions of him show some form of this crooking habit, though he will attempt to correct it if he notices or someone points it out.

The effect drove him insane and he only regained himself after his own brother nearly killed him in battle. He later was nursed back to health by a young half blood who is now one of his only friends, and the only person he completely trusts as of yet.
*he is not considered able to father his own offspring due to his own low fertility. He has an above average fertility when he himself is the one giving birth. And yes. male mer CAN indeed give birth in some cases. It is not unheard of but it is considered a bit odd, even among mer. It heavily implies that the male is homosexual, which is a severe crime among some kingdoms, so a pregnant male is far more rare in Atlantica, whereas it would be more accepted elsewhere.
